Quality advantages vs. OE: 15-20% higher tenacity (approaching ring levels), superior evenness (CV% 9-13% vs. OE 12-16%), lower hairiness (cleaner appearance), better abrasion resistance (wrapped structure protecting core), and smoother feel (wrapper fibres create silky surface). Quality advantages vs. ring: lower hairiness (significant for knitwear reducing pilling, improving dyeing uniformity), higher productivity (3-4×), lower cost (20-30%), and acceptable strength for most applications (85-90% of ring). Limitations: wrapper periodicity can create visible striations in solid-dyed fabrics (minor aesthetic issue), slightly lower strength than ring (90-95%), limited count range (20-80 Ne, predominantly 30-60 Ne commercially), and fibre suitability (excellent cotton, polyester, blends; limited for very short <25 mm or long >45 mm staples).
