Air-Jet Yarn Structure and Properties

topic
Fasciated yarn structure: (1) core fibres (60-70% by mass)—parallel or low-twist, providing tensile strength, resembling roving structure, (2) wrapper fibres (30-40%)—helically wound at high angle (60-80°) around core at regular intervals (3-8 mm periodicity), providing cohesion and surface characteristics, and (3) transitional fibres—migrating between core and wrapper. Cross-section: circular with distinct core-wrapper boundary visible under microscope. Properties: tenacity 14-18 cN/tex (intermediate between ring 16-20 and OE 12-15, cotton 30 Ne: 15-17 cN/tex), elongation 6-9%, evenness CV% 9-13% (better than OE 12-16%, approaching ring 8-12%), low hairiness (hairiness index 3.5-5.0 vs. ring 5-8, OE 4-6), excellent abrasion resistance (wrapper structure protects core), and smooth appearance (wrapper fibres create uniform surface).
