Automatic warp tying machines including Stäubli TOPMATIC and Superba systems clamp on the loom beam and warp frame, scan across the warp width using fibre-separated old and new warp ends presented in parallel alignment, automatically pick pairs of corresponding ends and tie them with a weaver's knot at rates of 300 to 600 knots per minute, completing the tying of a 400-centimetre wide warp with 3000 ends in 20 to 30 minutes with knotting success rates above 98 percent.
