Beam Winding Quality and Tension Profiles

topic
Beam winding quality is governed by winding tension, lay ratio, and traverse speed that together determine package hardness, density, and the tension uniformity of yarn on the beam across layers from full to empty, with tension tapering programmes automatically increasing winding tension as beam diameter grows to compensate for the increasing moment arm that would otherwise cause softer outer layers on the finished beam.

Role

Produces warp beams with uniform hardness and tension across the full winding traverse and from inner to outer layers that unwind with consistent tension on the loom, preventing the tension variation between inner and outer beam layers that causes warp break rate increase and fabric tension bars as the loom beam depletes from full to empty during weaving.
