Ceramic Fibres (Alumina, Silicon Carbide)

category
Ceramic fibres are inorganic fibres composed of metal oxides (alumina, silica, zirconia), carbides (silicon carbide), or nitrides (silicon nitride, boron nitride) produced via sol-gel, polymer precursor, or melt spinning routes. Exhibit exceptional thermal stability (>1000°C continuous, >1600°C peak), chemical inertness, and high-temperature mechanical properties.

Role

Enable extreme environment applications in aerospace (jet engine components, thermal protection systems), industrial furnaces, automotive exhaust systems, and advanced composites requiring retention of mechanical properties at temperatures where polymer-based and metal materials fail.
