Dust Removal Systems and Dedusting

topic
Dust particles are completely enclosed within flocks and held back during suction because surrounding fibres act as a filter. Mandl showed that mainly suction units remove dust (64% in his example), with dust removal more intensive for smaller tufts. Dust elimination occurs at all stages of spinning. Methods include perforated drums (50% dust extraction after a carding roller), non-rotating perforated surfaces, circulating perforated belts, and stationary combs.

Role

High-performance blowroom machines are constructed so that dedusting arises as a systematic side effect in every opening machine. In normal cases no special dedusting machines are required, though manufacturers offer dedicated dust-removing equipment for the end of the line.
