Pre-Cleaners (Coarse Cleaning Machines)

topic
Pre-cleaners process material in free flight with widely spaced striker elements, producing very small additional opening. The Rieter B 12 UNIclean forces tufts to pass over the grid five times and over a perforated dedusting sheet five times, using an airlock cylinder to prevent good fibre loss during waste removal. Other designs include step cleaners (6 beater rollers at 45° incline) and dual roller cleaners (610 mm diameter drums).

Role

Pre-cleaners are positioned immediately after the bale opener to clean the large quantity of newly created surfaces. High-performance pre-cleaners are essential partners to high-performance bale openers, as old pre-cleaners cannot handle the throughput or achieve adequate impurity removal rates.
