Combined sizing and interlacing warp preparation systems apply light size at 2 to 5 percent add-on for warp abrasion resistance followed by air interlacing at the slasher exit to restore filament bundle cohesion disrupted by sizing application, or alternatively use interlacing alone at elevated interlace levels of 80 to 120 nodes per metre as a complete replacement for sizing that eliminates the desizing step and associated water and energy consumption in subsequent wet processing.
