Contamination Detection in Blowroom Fibre Streams

topic
Foreign fibre and contamination detection systems use high-speed optical sensors with UV, visible, and near-infrared illumination to identify coloured fibres, polypropylene fragments, feathers, and non-fibre contaminants in the pneumatically transported fibre stream, triggering high-speed air jet ejection of contaminated fibre tufts within 10 milliseconds of detection at throughput rates above 500 kilograms per hour.

Role

Prevents foreign fibre contamination from reaching yarn that would cause dye spots, fabric defects, and customer rejections in the finished textile, with early-stage blowroom contamination removal being far more effective and less costly than detection at later spinning stages where contamination has been distributed across many metres of yarn and fabric.
