← Dust and Fly Handling and Filtration

Classification of Spinning Mill Waste

topic
A spinning mill produces three categories of waste: directly reusable waste (clean waste that can be fed back into the blowroom line in constant admixing quantities), dirty waste (licker-in droppings, blowroom droppings, flat strippings with 35–80% good fibre content), and dust and fly (the finest particles requiring filtration). Dirty waste handling is unpleasant for personnel, driving the adoption of pneumatic removal systems.

Role

Proper classification of waste streams ensures each type is handled appropriately—reusable waste returned to production, dirty waste processed through recycling installations, and dust/fly removed via filtration. Mixing waste types without control leads to quality problems.
