Secondary Raw Material Quality Standards
topic
About 90% of good fibre elimination from primary waste (6–8% of throughput) can be recovered as secondary raw material still containing about 6% trash. This can be mixed into the same blend up to 2.5% without any effect on quality, and up to 5% with hardly noticeable changes. For ring spinning, no more than 5% should be returned to the blend.
Role
These quality standards provide practical guidelines for recycling operations, balancing economic benefit of fibre recovery against the quality impact of introducing stressed, previously processed fibres back into the production stream.
