Role
Film is the most democratically accessible and most cognitively rich visual-narrative creative input — combining the narrative intelligence of literature, the visual intelligence of painting and photography, the temporal intelligence of music, and the design intelligence of architecture into a single medium developed with extraordinary sophistication over a century. Yet most film consumption is genre-restricted, temporally recent, and culturally provincial — missing the specific creative wealth of international cinema, documentary tradition, avant-garde film, and the rich history of non-English-language cinema that most creators have never accessed.
