Incoming Yarn Quality Inspection and Approval
topic
Incoming yarn quality inspection for warp preparation tests representative samples from each delivered lot against approved specifications for linear density by ISO 2060, tenacity and elongation by ISO 2062, evenness CV and imperfections by Uster evenness testing, twist per metre by ISO 2061, and Classimat fault frequency, with lot approval conditional on all parameters meeting specification and conditional approval for borderline lots requiring additional preparation treatments such as additional clearing or alternative sizing recipes.
Role
Prevents the processing of yarn lots with known quality deficiencies that would generate elevated warp break rates and fabric defects by verifying incoming yarn against warp application specifications before committing warping and sizing resources, with incoming inspection being the first quality gate in the warp preparation chain whose implementation is justified by the cost ratio between rejecting yarn at delivery versus discovering its inadequacy after the complete preparation investment has been committed.
