Modal properties: tenacity 3.5-4.0 g/den (dry), 2.5-3.0 g/den (wet, 70% retention vs. viscose 50%), elongation 12-18%, wet modulus 70-90 g/den (vs. 20-30 for viscose), moisture regain 12-14%, crystallinity 35-45%, DP 350-450, dimensional stability (shrinkage <3% after washing), and resistance to pilling and fibrillation.
Role
Enhanced wet properties enable applications in products subjected to repeated washing (underwear, bedding) while maintaining shape and softness better than viscose.
