OE Yarn Applications and Markets

Primary applications: denim (60-70% of OE yarn, predominantly weft yarns in combination with ring warp creating cost-optimized denim fabric $1.50-4.00/m vs. ring-ring $3.00-6.00/m, also 100% OE denim for economy segment), casual apparel (t-shirts, sweatshirts, casual pants where moderate quality acceptable), home textiles (bed sheets, towels, curtains—covering power, dye uniformity advantages), and industrial textiles (sewing threads lower grades, mops, ropes, filtration media). Count range: 4-40 Ne practical limit (predominantly 10-30 Ne, finer counts difficult due to rotor speed limitations and wrapper fibre effects on strength). Fibre suitability: excellent for cotton, cotton-polyester blends (50:50 to 35:65 most common), polyester, acceptable for viscose, limited for wool (fiber length), unsuitable for very fine or very coarse fibres.
