Open-End Rotor Spinning Machinery

category
Open-end rotor spinning machines open sliver to individual fibres using an opening roller, transport fibres pneumatically into a high-speed rotor rotating at 60,000 to 170,000 rpm where fibres collect in the rotor groove and are twisted into yarn drawn axially through the rotor navel at production speeds of 150 to 300 metres per minute, five to eight times faster than ring spinning.

Role

Provides the dominant high-productivity alternative to ring spinning for medium and coarse count cotton yarns from Ne 6 to Ne 40, delivering yarn at substantially higher production speed per spinning position than ring spinning at lower labour requirement per kilogram, making rotor spinning the economic choice for commodity yarn production in denim, towelling, yarn dyeing, and woven fabric applications.
