Conventional and Waste Bale Openers
topic
Conventional bale openers use inclined spiked lattices with evener rollers in a hopper configuration. Material is fed manually or via condenser, carried upward by the lattice, and oversized clumps are thrown back by evener rollers until sufficiently opened. They are now found mainly as waste feeders or for opening man-made fibres in newer installations.
Role
These machines remain important for waste recycling operations and specialty fibre processing. Their mixing and rolling action in the hopper provides good blending but can generate neps with excessive material loading.
