Rotor Spinning Process and Mechanism
topic
Rotor spinning stages: (1) opening—sliver fed to opening roller (6,000-8,000 rpm with metallic wire clothing) individualizing fibres into single fibre stream, (2) transport—fibres transported via air stream through transfer channel to rotor, (3) collection—fibres deposited in rotor groove (conical surface, 28-56 mm diameter, rotating 50,000-150,000 rpm creating centrifugal force 100,000-300,000× gravity) forming fibre ring, (4) twisting—rotor rotation inserting twist (false twist principle, twist = rotor rpm / delivery speed), (5) withdrawal—formed yarn continuously withdrawn through doffing tube by delivery rollers. Twist insertion mechanism: fibres peeled from rotor groove, twist propagates up to peeling point (twist insertion point travels around rotor circumference at rotor speed creating extremely high twist insertion rate 2,000,000-5,000,000 TPM at peeling point).
