Tricot Warp Knitting Machine Design
topic
Tricot machines use two to four guide bars each controlling a separate warp beam of yarn to form the basic stitch and underlap pattern through programmed lateral guide bar shogging movements, knitting on a single needle bed with compound or beard needles at gauges from 24 to 36 at speeds of 2500 to 3500 courses per minute producing smooth, stable tricot fabric for lingerie, swimwear, and lining applications.
Role
Produces the dominant warp knit fabric structure for lingerie, swimwear, and sportswear applications at the highest productivity of any knitting technology, with tricot machine simplicity relative to Raschel machines and its two to four guide bar arrangement enabling production of the smooth, low-extension warp knit fabrics used as linings and intimate apparel fabrics in polyester, nylon, and elastane constructions.
