Sailing applications: sailcloth laminates (UHMWPE fibres embedded in Mylar films creating dimensionally stable sails with 1/3 weight of Dacron), running rigging (halyards, sheets with 1/10 stretch of polyester), and standing rigging (replacing stainless steel wire). Sports: fishing lines (braided UHMWPE with 3× strength of monofilament), archery bow strings, kite lines, and hang glider cables. Enables performance advantages through weight reduction and strength.
