Warp End Break Detection and Automatic Stop Motion
topic
Warping machine stop motion systems detect individual end breaks using drop wires in the warp sheet at the warping drum head or optical sensors monitoring individual end presence, stopping the warping machine within 0.5 to 2 seconds of break detection to prevent the broken end from wrapping around the drum or being wound into the beam where it would require time-consuming unwinding or cause an undetected missing end in the warp beam.
Role
Prevents warp beam defects from missed ends caused by undetected breaks by stopping warping immediately upon end break detection before the break location becomes buried in the warp beam under subsequent layers of yarn, with rapid stop motion response reducing yarn waste per break and minimising the miss of warp ends that would create fabric defects requiring the entire affected warp section to be discarded and rewound.
