Metering and Precision Blending
topic
The Rieter A 81 UNIblend uses separate chutes for different material types, each with an independent metering device using hydraulic cylinders with constant force and microprocessor-controlled constant dosage. Each chute drops precisely measured material onto a collecting conveyor. This is required when blends of different materials (e.g., cotton/polyester) or different colours are needed.
Role
Precision metering blending addresses limitations of random blenders, which cannot create accurate proportional blends of fundamentally different materials. While most blends are produced on draw frames, blowroom metering offers earlier and potentially more accurate component ratio control.
