Fibre Blending in the Blowroom

category
Blending of fibre material is an essential preliminary in yarn production. The start of the process is one of the most important stages because individual components are still separately available and can be metered exactly. In practice, fibre is taken from 20–48 bales of cotton simultaneously (6–12 for man-made fibres). Modern automatic bale openers extract sequentially, not simultaneously, requiring separate blending machines downstream.

Role

Uniform blending is critical for consistent yarn quality. A well-assembled bale layout with even extraction from all bales, combined with intensive downstream blending, ensures that variations between bale origins are minimised throughout the production run.
