Carding aids can be applied at three positions: under the licker-in (plates), between licker-in and flats (bars), and between flats and doffer (bars). Aluminium carding profiles contain 2 carding bars with special clothing that must not choke. Bars can be provided in different finenesses, becoming finer in the throughflow direction. Mote knives with guiding elements and suction tubes are also used in combination with carding elements.
Role
Carding elements ensure further opening, thinning out, and primarily spreading out and improved distribution of fibres over the total cylinder surface area. They reduce loading on the cylinder/flats carding zone and are essential for high-performance cards to achieve quality goals at elevated throughput rates.
