TREX System and Post-Flat Cleaning
topic
The Rieter TREX system places mote knives close to the cylinder beneath flat covers, with associated suction tubes to carry away stripped foreign matter. Assemblies comprising carding plates and mote knives (behind each other) above the doffer are nearly standard. Since individual fibres on the cylinder represent the only point in spinning where total fibre separation is achieved, this position is ideal for finest cleaning.
Role
Post-flat cleaning exploits the unique opportunity of having fully separated individual fibres on the cylinder surface. Carding elements following the flats create an additional fine carding zone for the 5–10 fibre rotations before doffing, improving both cleaning and fibre orientation.
