Electronic jacquard circular knitting machines use individually controlled needle selection mechanisms including piezoelectric actuators, electromagnetic selectors, or mechanical jacks to independently select each needle for knit, tuck, or float on each course, enabling unlimited colour pattern design in multicolour jacquard fabrics programmed from design software and downloaded directly to the machine controller without mechanical pattern change.

Enables production of complex multicolour jacquard pattern fabrics for sportswear, casualwear, and fashion knitwear with unlimited repeat design capability limited only by the number of feeder positions and colour selections available, with electronic needle selection replacing mechanical pattern drums that required physical change for each new design and enabling rapid style changeover for fashion-responsive production.
