Card Dust Extraction Positions
topic
Modern cards provide suction removal at: the infeed region, flat entrance and exit, within the flats, between main cylinder and doffer, at the web detaching point, beneath the main cylinder, and in the coiler. Systems operate continuously requiring 4,000–5,000 m³/h of suction air per card. Fly- and dust-laden air passes to air-conditioning equipment. Cards are fully enclosed with permanent partial vacuum to prevent escape of dust and fly.
Role
Comprehensive dust extraction is essential both for workplace health compliance and for maintaining constant processing conditions on the card. The continuous operation of suction systems also helps maintain stable airflow patterns around the cylinder.
