Multi-Colour Weft Selection in Air-Jet Weaving

topic
Air-jet multi-colour weft systems use multiple independent main nozzles positioned at the selvedge, each carrying a different weft yarn, with sequential firing of selected nozzles according to the programmed weft pattern inserting one colour per pick, with up to 4 to 8 colours available on tandem nozzle systems that maintain separate yarn accumulators and nozzle timing circuits for each weft colour.

Role

Enables striped, checked, and pattern weft designs on air-jet looms using multiple weft colours in programmed sequence, extending air-jet weaving applicability beyond single-colour fabrics into patterned home textiles, shirting, and decorative fabrics while maintaining the high insertion rate advantage of air-jet weaving relative to rapier looms in multi-colour applications up to the 4 to 8 colour practical limit.
