Needlepunch bonding machinery consolidates fibre webs into coherent nonwoven fabrics by reciprocating barbed needles through the web thickness at high frequency, with needle barbs dragging fibres from horizontal web orientation into vertical orientation that mechanically entangles the fibre mass into a three-dimensionally bonded structure providing the combination of high thickness, compressibility, and structural integrity required for geotextile, insulation, filtration, and carpet applications.
Role
Provides the primary mechanical bonding technology for producing heavy-weight, thick nonwoven fabrics for technical applications including geotextiles, automotive interior, acoustic insulation, and filtration where the three-dimensional fibre interlocking of needlepunching produces fabrics with thickness, compressibility, and mechanical properties not achievable by thermal or chemical bonding methods for fabrics above 200 grams per square metre.
