Tandem card configurations pass fibre through two sequential carding zones with a transfer unit between cards, providing doubled carding intensity for processing very fine cotton below 14 micrometres micronaire, cashmere, and other premium fibres where single card nep removal efficiency is insufficient to achieve the very low imperfection counts required for fine count luxury yarn production.
Role
Achieves nep removal levels beyond the capability of single card configurations for the most demanding fine fibre and luxury yarn applications, enabling the extremely low nep content in card sliver that is prerequisite for producing fine count ring spun cotton yarns above Ne 80 and luxury cashmere yarns without the combing waste penalty of aggressive nep removal at the comber.
