Thermosol Continuous Dyeing for Polyester

topic
Thermosol dyeing applies disperse dyes to polyester fabric by padding at 60 to 70 percent wet pickup followed by intermediate drying at 100 to 130 degrees Celsius and thermofixation at 190 to 210 degrees Celsius for 60 to 90 seconds in a stenter oven where the high temperature opens the polyester polymer structure allowing disperse dye sublimation and diffusion into the fibre from the concentrated dry dye deposit on the fibre surface.

Role

Provides the primary continuous dyeing method for polyester and polyester-cotton fabrics using disperse dyes at production speeds of 50 to 80 metres per minute with no water washing requirement after thermofixation for disperse-only dyeing, making thermosol the most resource-efficient dyeing method for polyester fabrics from the absence of wash-off water consumption needed for fibre-reactive and vat dye systems.
