Viscose Physical and Chemical Properties
topic
Viscose demonstrates: tenacity 2.0-2.5 g/den (dry), 1.0-1.3 g/den (wet, 50% loss), elongation 15-25%, initial modulus 40-60 g/den, moisture regain 11-14%, density 1.50-1.52 g/cm³, swelling in water 40-60%, thermal decomposition at 170-260°C, excellent dyeability with direct, reactive, and vat dyes, and susceptibility to alkaline degradation.
Role
The significant wet strength loss limits applications in products requiring wet durability, while high moisture absorption provides comfort in apparel.
