Viscose Rayon

category
Viscose rayon is produced by dissolving cellulose (wood pulp, cotton linters) in sodium hydroxide and carbon disulfide to form viscose solution, which is extruded through spinnerets into sulfuric acid coagulation bath for regeneration. Annual global production exceeds 6 million tonnes.
