Reactive Polyurethane Adhesive Lamination

topic
Reactive polyurethane adhesive lamination applies moisture-reactive or two-component PU adhesives at 5 to 20 grams per square metre that form crosslinked polymer networks through isocyanate-hydroxyl or isocyanate-moisture reactions after substrate combination in the nip, developing high bond strength with excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and flexibility superior to thermoplastic hot melt adhesives in demanding laminate applications.

Role

Produces the highest performance adhesive bonds for technical laminates requiring superior heat resistance, solvent resistance, and mechanical properties through the crosslinked polyurethane network formed after reactive adhesive lamination that thermoplastic hot melt systems cannot achieve, with reactive PU lamination being used for outdoor performance fabrics, automotive applications, and industrial protective clothing where delamination resistance under heat, stress, and chemical exposure is the primary durability requirement.
