Card Feed Systems and Chute Design

category
Card feed involves pneumatic tuft delivery through one-piece chutes (simple, economical) or two-piece chutes with opening systems (more complex but delivering more even, better-opened material). The upper chute half serves as a reserve chamber separating material from air; the lower portion holds constant material quantity compressed evenly by controlled air or vibrating plates to form an ideal feedstock of 500–900 ktex.

Role

The card is the first machine to deliver a cohesive intermediate product, and every irregularity in the feedstock is transmitted into the sliver. Faults should be prevented rather than corrected, making even, consistent feed essential for high-quality carding.
